I'm frantically attempting to finish 2 final requirement for Chaminade, all while maintaining coursework in my 2 UH classes.

This quarter at Chaminade, I'm taking ED 604: Managing School Environments and ED 630: Elementary Integrated Curriculum. In ED 604, I have a final exam in which I answer a series of 7 questions all regarding what we covered this quarter. In ED 630, I need to create a 2 week long curriculum map, as well as 10 lesson plans to go with it. (-___-)'

Then I have my UH classes. This semester I'm taking EDEF 678: Approaches to Educational Inquiry and EDCS 653D: Mathematics in the Schools: Geometry and Measurement. In the EDEF class I have a reaction/analysis paper regarding the book Sticking to the Union by Sandy Polishuk. In the EDCS 653D, I need to turn in a double entry journal about all the classes so far.

Oh, by the way, did I mention all of this is due early next week? (-__-);

I just have to keep telling myself I can get through this. And this madness of going to 2 different schools will all end by May 2009. (^____^)/ Then I can concentrate on my UH classes! Yay!

On July 26, 2008 I'm scheduled to take test 0011 and test 0012 from the PRAXIS II series.

Test 0011 is the PRAXIS II: Elementary Education Tests - Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. It consists of 110 multiple choice questions in the following areas: Reading and Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts and Physical Education, and General Information. I have 2 hours to complete it and I need a score of 165 to "pass".

Test 0012 is the PRAXIS II: Elementary Education Tests - Content Area Exercises. It consists of 4 constructed response (essays) on the following topics: Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science or Social Studies, and Interdisciplinary Instruction. I have 2 hours to complete it and I need a score of 136 to "pass".

I've purchased books both at the local bookstore as well as online to prepare, but there's just so much information I need to know! Social studies is really kicking me in the a**. I should have paid more attention in school. LoL. And ETS is crazy for thinking that we can actually come up with FOUR good, decent essays in ONLY 2 hours.

I have a little over 2 weeks to study...I hope I pass. I sure don't want to go through studying for this again...nevertheless pay $200 again just to take it. *argh*

I grew up learning that when a letter comes in the mail to tell you whether or not you got accepted to a school, it's REAL easy to know even before you open it. That is, when the envelop is big, fat and heavy, you're IN! They've got a lot of information for you, so they've jam packed it in there. And when the envelop is skinny and light, you're out of luck. They've got no information for yah...they've only sent you a one pager telling you, you're not in.

But, I guess I was wrong. I got in the mail today...a skimpy letter from UH. Eh, I thought...I'll just keep trying...as I opened the envelope. WHOA?!?! WHAT!?!?

"I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted..." Wait, what!?

"I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted..." Huh? Come again?

"I am pleased to inform you that you have been admitted..." WHOALLY SH*T. Excuse my language. Seriously though...I didn't think I'd make it. But hey, I did! Yay! Weeeeeeee More studying to come....
