...and since we were celebrating my mom and dad's 39th anniversary, the restaurant gave them this special dessert. The strawberries are on fire!

Thank you to @Bytemarks @ForestF and Honolulu Zoo for making this happen. I enjoyed taking the behind the scenes tour! 動物園の舞台裏ツアーすごく楽しかったです。
First...lunch! They have a vegetarian option! Here is the veggie burger!
ベジタリアンバーガーあります!
We got to see the new elephant exhibit that they are working on!
Do you see the hidden elephant stone?
Then we checked out the vetenarian area.
This is the cut in the road they made to equip Honolulu Zoo with broadband! The island of Oahu can get this same type of broadband in just 3 years....of course that if everyone could just agree to get it done...>_<

I love the concept that when I buy a pair, the company will give a pair to a kid in need. Even though I don't think I look good in these, I bought a pair because it's for a good cause. 良く履くかどうかわからないけど、とりあえず買いました。
I can't wait for their One Day Without Shoes event next year!

At first I was very hesitant to go to this Bella Mia on Beretania because of my previous experience at the Kaimuki location. Someone I landed upon this place today anyways...and OH MY...the bread with cheese was soooo good. I mean, yes, it's not good for you since it's cheese and white bread...but it was tasted so good!
チーズパンが超美味しかった♥ 全然健康には良くないけどね。だってチーズとパンでしょ?ま、たまにはいっか。笑

I opted out of the donburis because 1) I stay away from white rice 2) nothing really POPed at me to try even though it was made with white rice. I also asked if they have brown rice as an alternative, but they don't. Too bad...
So I got the salad instead. I was pretty surprised. The dressing is kinda similar to the one at Suntory! Coolio!
I also got the osumashi (soup)...but that...I swear...is the packed kine I can get at Nijiya. LoL.

Today I went to the island of Lana'i to volunteer at the one and only elementary school. Did you know that they don't have Mcdonalds, or any other fast food place? Did you know that they have no stop lights? Did you know that they only have one gas station? Crazy! I had a hard time believing that it was part of the same state I live in! I'm such a city girl, I wouldn't know what to do...and would probably drive myself crazy there. Some love that country lifestyle though!
